Requiem
Requiem, 2023, Photography
Once there was only the ocean on earth. One day only the ocean will remain on earth. We kill him and he kills us. There is nothing strange, nothing good and even nothing bad about that. This is just life. This series is devoted to abstractions created by waves. Looking at them, you can very easily understand what the world was like before we appeared and what it will be like when we are gone. How many stories will pass during this time and how much will happen. At the same time, if you look globally, nothing important is happening.
Artist Statement: Myronov Mykola was born and educated in Kharkiv. He has been passionate about photography since childhood. At the age of 11, he saved up for his first Zenit camera, which marked the beginning of everything. For some time, he worked as a commercial photographer and designer. During the pandemic, he began engaging with art to distract himself from the surrounding events. He was inspired by the sea for a long time and worked on creating minimalist seascapes. However, the limited variety of subjects pushed him to further creative explorations. Through his works, he tries to show the beautiful sides of life and the ease with which we can live, but often forget.
